Hyderabad, February 10, 2025: In a bid to equip women with the necessary skills to protect themselves, KIMS Sunshine Hospital, a leading healthcare provider in the city, today inaugurated a self-defense workshop for its female employees, nursing staff, and doctors.
Dr. A. V. Guruva Reddy, Managing Director of KIMS Sunshine Hospital and renowned orthopedic surgeon, inaugurated the workshop, emphasizing the importance of mental and physical strength for women. "In today's society, where women are increasingly vulnerable to attacks and harassment, it is essential that they are equipped with the skills to defend themselves," he said.
The self-defense workshop, conducted in collaboration with Yodha Martial Arts Academy under the able guidance of trained experts and the master Ajay, aim to enhance the mental and physical resilience of all female employees working at KIMS Sunshine Hospital. The training program is designed to empower women to protect themselves in times of danger, making them more confident and self-assured.
The workshop is a timely response to the increasing incidents of violence against women in the society. Dr. Guruva Reddy emphasized that the hospital is committed to creating a safe and secure environment for its employees, and this initiative is a step in that direction.
The workshop has been started with enthusiastic participats from several medical departments, including Cardiologist Dr. Kavya and Neurologist Dr. Nivedita, along with nursing staff and paramedical, front office and billing employees.
By equipping these women with self-defense skills, KIMS Sunshine Hospital aims to enhance their confidence and ability to protect themselves in potentially threatening and challenging emergency situations.
