Governor Jishnu Dev Varma Inaugurates Traffic Awareness Park For Children At DPS Nacharam



Hyderabad, January 20, 2025: DPS Nacharam embraced a thoughtful initiative— a pilot project by the Government of Telangana State—aimed at spreading awareness about traffic safety norms and fostering responsible road behaviour among students. This exclusive on-campus program was graced by the presence of the Honourable Governor of the state of Telangana, Mr. Jishnu Dev Varma.


The esteemed guests of the day, Honourable Governor Mr. Jishnu Dev Varma, the Transport Minister Shri Ponnam Prabhakar, the Special Chief Secretary of the Government of Telangana (TR & B) Shri Vikas Raj, along with our respected Chairman Mr. Malka Komaraiah, Director Ms. Pallavi, CEO & Director Mr. Yasasvi Malka, Director Ms. Tribhuvana, Senior Principal and Director Ms. Sunitha Rao, and other heads of our organization, inaugurated the city’s first-ever Traffic Park DPS Nacharam at 3pm. A group of well-trained DPSites demonstrated the workings of the Traffic Park through a live demonstration.


The Guard of Honour, led by the NCC team and our National Achievers, guided the guests to the OMG Lab, the Varnalepana Art Gallery, the Recording Station, and the auditorium. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp, accompanied by a soulful prayer song, marked the beginning of the auspicious occasion, seeking the blessings of the Almighty. The Chief Guest for the day, Governor Shri Jishnu Dev Varma made an impactful address sharing his insights and ideas for creating a safer and happier future. He spoke about how road safety is actually “Road responsibility” of every member of the society and all should be responsible citizens on the road. He further mentioned how all such awareness programmes like Traffic Park should be initiated in all schools and if it could save even one life, it would be worth the effort. He applauded the efforts of the school in playing a pivotal role in the initiative. 

The honourable Transport Minister, Shri. Ponnam Prabhakar reiterated the need and importance of the Traffic Park and exhorted students to spread its need and awareness in their families.


The Senior Principal and Director, Ms. Sunitha Rao welcomed the guests for the day and highlighted the school’s milestones over the last two decades.


The audience was captivated by the vision and wisdom shared by the Chairman of the school, Mr. Malka Komaraiah, as he spoke about the educational journey of Pallavi and DPS Group of Schools. He further outlined plans for the betterment of the student community, the environment, and humanity at large.


This event also served as the official curtain-raiser for the Research and Resource Department (R&R) for all DPS and PGOS branches. This department envisions empowering and fostering a culture of academic excellence, inspiring continuous growth among staff and students alike.


The attendees also participated in an annual DPS tradition, the “Joy of Giving.” The compassionate DPSites embodied the school’s motto, “Service before Self,” by contributing essentials such as toiletries, first aid kits, reusable water bottles, towels, napkins, stationery supplies, staple foods, steel utensils, winter clothing, and more. These contributions were distributed among 15+ NGOs across the twin cities by the dignitaries.


Special guest Shri Vikas Raj also shared his pearls of wisdom, emphasizing the importance of compassion, empathy, and humanity on this significant occasion. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by the National Anthem, performed by the choir. As the anthem echoed through the halls and corridors of the campus, every attendee was filled with gratitude for the positive endeavours taking shape and hope for a better, brighter, and safer tomorrow.
