IMS Sunshine Hospital Introduces Robotic Surgical Services in Gastroenterology, Urology, and Oncology Inaugurated by Dr. A.V. Gurava Reddy at Begumpet Unit

Hyderabad, April 7, 2025: KIMS Sunshine Hospital has launched advanced robotic surgical services in the departments of Surgical Gastroenterology, Urology, and Oncology. The hospital now operates six robotic surgical systems, making it one of the leading centers for robotic surgeries in the region.
The services were formally inaugurated by Dr. A.V. Gurava Reddy, Managing Director of KIMS Sunshine Hospitals, with the unveiling of the latest da Vinci Robotic Surgical System at the Begumpet unit.
Dr. Vimalakar Reddy, Senior Consultant and Head of Surgical Gastroenterology and Robotic Surgery, highlighted the hospital’s continuous efforts to upgrade technology for better patient outcomes.He noted that the da Vinci system will aid in performing high-precision, minimally invasive surgeries for conditions including GI cancers, pancreatic and biliary disorders, colon cancer, urological diseases, and select cardiac, cervical, and lung surgeries.
Dr. Reddy showcased a successful robotic hernia surgery to illustrate the benefits of robotic assistance in complex procedures.
The event was attended by key specialists including Dr. P.N. Rao, Dr. Nandakumar, Dr. Sriharsha, Dr. Pruthviraj, Dr. Havya, and Mr. Sudhakar Jadhav, COO, along with other senior consultants from multiple departments.
This initiative strengthens KIMS Sunshine Hospital's position as a leader in robotic and minimally invasive surgery in India.
