Madhya Pradesh Tourism showcased diverse offerings at Grand Roadshow in Hyderabad


Hyderabad, 5th Sep 2024: The Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board's roadshow on theme of “Green, Clean & Safe Madhya Pradesh” in Hyderabad aimed at showcasing the state's incredible tourism offerings and fostering collaboration between key industry stakeholders, concluded on a high note. The event took place on 5th September 2024 at the Radisson, witnessed enthusiastic participation from Madhya Pradesh's tourism sector and Hyderabad's local stakeholders, resulting in promising partnerships and greater prospects for tourism in the Heart of Incredible India.


The state is undoubtedly a treasure trove of tourism experiences and an offbeat multispecialty destination of first choice. With rapid transformation in the tourism industry, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board is committed to organise comprehensive workshops across the country. The roadshow highlighted tourism offerings of the state to foster collaboration between key industry stakeholders. A ‘Masterclass’ was also held before roadshow in which travel agents and tour operators participated.


Additional Managing Director, Ms. Bidisha Mukherjee (IAS) highlighted that “we are delighted with the outcome of roadshow in Hyderabad. It reaffirms our belief in the importance of collaboration within the tourism industry. The partnerships forged during this event will undoubtedly enhance tourism prospects for Madhya Pradesh. The roadshow not only deepened the understanding of Madhya Pradesh's tourism potential amongst the stakeholders but also established strong bonds between the two regions, encouraging travellers to explore the offerings of Madhya Pradesh. The stakeholders gained a competitive edge in the marketplace to deliver a more personalized travel experience in this workshop.”

The comprehensive roadshow delivered the state’s offering especially spiritual offering from 2 jyotirlingas, Mahakal Lok in Ujjain, the Raja Ram Lok, Devi Lok in Salkanpur, Shaktipeeth and the tallest statue of Adi Shankracharya in India (108 ft.) in Omkarsehawar enabling stakeholders to create more customized and enriching travel plans for their clients and develop a strong advocacy for Madhya Pradesh.


A record breaking surge in tourists footfall

Madhya Pradesh has set a new tourism record in tourist footfalls in 2023 which is 112.1 million compared to 34.1 million in 2022. The stakeholders gained a deeper understanding of Madhya Pradesh's tourism offerings from wildlife tourism holding title of ‘Tiger State of India’ with 785 tigers, heritage tourism including 14 UNESCO World Heritage sites, new initiatives like new spiritual corridors just like Mahakal lok in Ujjain, improved connectivity with the launch of the India’s 1st Intra state Airtaxi services connecting 8 cities across the state, India’s First Craft Handloom village – Pranpur near Chanderi which was inaugurated this year itself, and many more. MP is set to welcome travellers during its mega annual festivals like Chanderi Festival, Kuno Forest Festival, Gandhisagar Forest Retreat and Jal Mahotsav.

Madhya Pradesh is a kaleidoscope of cultural experiences beckoning culture lovers on a capturing journey through captivating cultural events including Khajuraho Dance Festival, Lokrang, Tansen Samaroh (100th edition in 2025), Allauddin Khan Sangeet Samaroh, Akhil Bhartiya Kalidas Samaroh.

One of the most significant aspects of this event was the participation of the key stakeholders from Madhya Pradesh's tourism industry, including travel agents, tour operators, and hoteliers. They shook hands with their counterparts in Hyderabad to create networks and partnerships that will enhance tourism prospects for Madhya Pradesh. This collaborative effort will not only promote tourism in Madhya Pradesh but also facilitate tourism flows between the two states.
