Mahabubnagar: A massive protest was organized by the Telangana Working Journalists Federation (TWJF) in Mahabubnagar, demanding the immediate dismissal of Union Home Minister Amit Shah from the Union Cabinet. The demonstration, held at Ambedkar Chowrasta on Saturday, received widespread support from Mudiraj and Dalit organizations.
Protesters condemned Amit Shah for his alleged disrespect toward Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution, during a recent Parliamentary session. TWJF State Vice President Bandi Vijay Kumar criticized the minister, stating, “While the world celebrates Ambedkar’s birth anniversary as Knowledge Day, such remarks reveal a lack of understanding and caste prejudice.” He added that the Constitution ensured rights and opportunities for marginalized communities, which Amit Shah himself benefits from.
Mudiraj Association leader Maitri Yadayya and TWJF district leaders Vakita Ashok Kumar and Molakalapalli Gopal also demanded Shah’s removal, urging Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene. Women's journalist leader Sajida Sikander called for Shah to be declared a traitor and expelled from the cabinet.
The protest was attended by leaders from Dalit organizations, Congress representatives, and several journalists from across the district, highlighting growing discontent over the issue.
